Andy and Snoop

Hi ....

Hello ... and brrrr!!! ... lets hope the cold spell is over. The picture on the left was taken of Eira standing outside the pub during one of the recent snow storms. The white blobs in the photo are snow flakes! Conversely, Steve took this month's title picture of the pub just this morning ~ in the sun with the crocus out and the daffs coming into bloom. What a difference in the space of a couple of weeks!

Our second photo shows another new-comer, not chef Andy Walker (off duty at the time of this photo) but his new Springer Spaniel puppy 'Snoop'.

This month we're celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a special promotion on Guinness and will be having an Irish Party on Saturday the 17th March. Nonetheless we'll be up bright and early on Sunday the 18th preparing mouth watering food for our Mothering Sunday lunch. We're running our popular Quizzes this month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays (14th and 28th March, at 9pm).

Next month we'll be doing a special night on St. Georges Day Eve, the evening of the 22nd April. Come and have our Roast Beef Dinner at the bargain price of £5.95 and join in our 'All Things English' quiz! So plenty to keep us going over the next couple of months and we hope that you'll join in, down at 'The Royal Oak' ...

Prize Draw

Today, Tuesday the 6th March, Beryl Haunch drew a name out of the bowl for our bottle of Taylor's LBV 2001 port, watched by Douglas and Terry Haunch (click on the photo to see all three of them!). February's lucky winner was Tracy Boardman. Congratulations Tracy, your port awaits your collection from the bar.

Our second photo shows January's winner James Preece, when he called in to collect his bottle of whisky. Well done James! Our final photo is of last September's winner Nigel Smith collecting his two bottles of wine from Eira. Nigel and wife Diana enjoy dropping in at 'The Oak' when they're in the

area with their caravan. Commiserations everyone else - but why not drop your details in again to be entered into this months draw. We draw every month from those names left in the bowl on the bar during the period since the last draw. March's prize will again be the ever popular bottle of Taylor's LBV 2001 port.
