Bun fight at the Oak K Corral

The Meer Cats

Hi ....

Thanks to everyone who moseyed on down for last months Cowboy and Cowgirl party - we sure had a swell time! Well done to Jodie Brown and Tom McMillan who won the fancy dress prizes. Also thanks to The Meer Cats for providing the music; you can see some more photos of the evening's goings-on here. We're already planning to have a Beach Party night at the end of July - so get out those bikinis, Hawaiian shirts and get ready to ride the wave!

This month we held our first 'Curry Night' - which proved so popular that we're planning to do it again on Wednesday the 5th July. We're keeping on the Chicken Tikka Masala - but ringing the changes with Lamb Rogan Josh and Prawn Pasanda. Like it hot - then ask our chefs to add more chillies 'to taste'!

Next month we'll be on the Ale Trail - with a splendid line up of local ale and live music from Acoustic Roots on the Saturday night. Talking of music, we bid a welcome return to The Caradoc Band, playing 'Folk at the Oak' on Saturday the 22nd July. Hope to see you soon ....

Brian makes this months draw

Douglas - last months winner

Prize Draw ....

This months prize draw was drawn on Sunday the 18th of June, by local businessman Brian Forbes watched by Eira. The lucky winner of a Case of Grolsch is Paul Hodgson. Congratulations Paul, please collect your prize from us at the bar.

Here we see last month's prize winner, Douglas Haunch, collecting his bottle of Tanners champagne from Eira. Coincidentally, it was Douglas's birthday on the day the last draw was made!

Next months draw is for two bottles of wine (a Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cab Sauv and a Hardys Nottage Hill Chardonnay). All names submitted during the month will be included - if you're already on our list just drop you name into the bowl on the bar again on your next visit to be included in our draw.

News in Brief ....

Nice to see ex-Landlord David Baugh back on his feet (and in the bar) making an excellent recovery from his recent hip operation. We wish him well for a full recovery.
