Hi ....It's been a musical month down at The Royal Oak, with 'Acoustic Roots' playing on the Ale Trail followed by a great evening with 'The Caradoc Band' two weeks later. We will be continuing in this musical vein with the fantastic Liza Fitzgibbon performing at 9pm on Saturday the 12th August. Check out Lisa here and then live at The Oak on the 12th! Don't forget our Beach Party this coming Saturday. We're still looking for an old canvas deckchair to complete the 'props', so if you have one lurking at the back of your shed that you can lend us - give us a ring! The evening will have a definite summer flavour, with music from just after 9pm, cocktails, sun, sand (really!?), palm trees, hula hoops ....... On Wednesday the 9th August we're having a 'Fabulous Fish' night - a collection of our delicious, homemade fish recipes at the special price of £8.95 - including a large glass of crisp Chenin Blanc, buttery Chardonnay or mellow Riesling. Just now it seems too hot to think - which is why we've published our 'Hearts of Oak' competition. Just study the mystery picture below and tell us where in 'The Oak' it was taken to win a £5 Royal Oak voucher. Good luck and we hope to see you soon at The Royal Oak. .... Steve & Eira |

HEARTS OF OAK COMPETITIONA simple question to keep your brain ticking over this hot July. Where in The Royal Oak will you find this heart motif? As an addition clue - there are four hearts in total in two different locations (we'll accept either location as the answer, but you need to be specific enough for us to know that you know!). Email your answers back to us by Thursday the 17th of August 2006 and we'll put all the correct ones in the hat and draw out a winner. The winner will get a £5 Royal Oak voucher. |
